Dr Christopher Chew, Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Dr. Christopher Chew is a specialist Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician (FRACP) with advanced expertise in complex lung and sleep disorders. He has current public appointments at Alfred Health, Northern Health and Western Health. His primary specialisations are Sleep and Ventilation, Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD).

Dr. Chew undertook extensive international post-fellowship training, completing a clinical fellowship at the renowned Royal Brompton Hospital in London, the UK’s largest specialist heart and lung centre. This provides him with in-depth experience in managing the full spectrum of PH, CTEPH, and complex ILD, including sarcoidosis-associated conditions.

Additionally, Dr. Chew completed a dedicated fellowship in Sleep and Ventilation Medicine at the Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS), part of Austin Health. His expertise covers chronic respiratory failure (including neuromuscular disease and spinal cord injuries), complex sleep disorders, and reporting on complex polysomnography.

He holds a Master of Bioethics (First Class Honours), reinforcing his commitment to the highest standards of patient-centred care.
