Dr Matt Gibney
MBBS FRACP
Dr. Matt Gibney is a graduate of Monash University.
He worked as a junior doctor at Austin and Northern Health before completing his Respiratory and Sleep specialty training at Eastern Health and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He currently works in Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine at Royal Melbourne Hospital where he is also involved in clinical research regarding severe COPD and lung cancer.
His clinical interests include sleep disorders, lung cancer diagnosis and bronchoscopy, and the assessment and management of airways disease (asthma, COPD and bronchiectasis). As a student, Matt competed as a distance runner at a national level in Australia and in the US College system.
He loves discussing sport and is happy to review athletes of all abilities with respiratory and sleep disorders.
