Dr Joy Sha
MBBS FRACP
Dr Joy Sha is a Respiratory and Sleep physician, and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2008, and completed her basic physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She went on to undertake further training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Frankston Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Austin Health.
She works as a Respiratory and Sleep specialist at Peninsula Health where she leads the sleep service. She was involved in the use of bronchial thermoplasty for the treatment of severe asthma in the first cohort of patients in Australia and has continued to contribute to further research in this area.
Joy has particular interests in airways disease and sleep disorders, but enjoys and manages all aspects of respiratory and sleep problems. She is able to speak Mandarin and can consult in this language. Joy is a member of The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and American Thoracic Society.
